The goal of this course is to empower UC Berkeley students to become effective mentors, teach them how to manage a classroom of diverse womxn, and how to be effective leaders! They will train to be one-on-one mentors to middle school girls during Fall 2018 and attend mandatory once-a-week mentoring sessions to develop trusting relationship with their mentee for the entire 2018-2019 school year. They will also learn to understand the effects of mentorship and the cultural and gender-based differences that exist across the public education system.

The goal of this course is to encourage debate and and discussion of modern feminist issues. Our curriculum includes conversation about current events, guest speakers, personal experiences. While our year-long mentorship program requires mentors to be female-identifying, our semester-long General Members Program has no such requirement and we encourage people of all identities to join!
